I’m available for photo editing, photo research, one-on-one coaching and consulting, and being a fresh set of eyes. I work collaboratively with photographers to feature their strongest work in stories, contest submissions, portfolios, and books. I believe every picture has an individual story to share and contribute to the overall narrative of a story.
Meg Oliphant
Meg hired me to revamp her entire portfolio for her final website presentation at www.megoliphant.com. Meg and I spoke on the phone to review the edits I made for a collaborative process. I made the final selections for her landing page slideshow (below), the organization of her sections, as well as the sequence in each section. Meg is a freelance photographer currently located in Los Angeles.
My time working with Kristen is always deeply enriching. She brings such a keen and careful eye to my images and really brings out the best in a body of work. Her approach to photo editing is grounded in the profound love she has for the industry and her immense support for others. I wish that I could work with her on everything I do.

Moriah Ratner
Moriah hired me to edit a photo story of an advertorial assignment she did about the Tufts Medical Center, “Are You One of Us?” to include on her website, as well as include a brief photo selection in a newsletter. She and I emailed back and forth extensively so I had the best sense of the story she wanted to tell and we worked collaboratively to get a sense of the tireless dedication medical professionals have to their profession. Moriah is a freelance photojournalist currently based in Portland, Oregon.
Kristen is a delight to work with! She is a very thorough and detail-oriented editor with a keen eye for sequencing and building a robust narrative. I had a positive experience working with Kristen as she is timely, open-minded and perceptive.

Alyssa Hunter
Alyssa hired me to update her entire portfolio, including adding a new section highlighting her portraiture with parents and infants on her website, www.alyssahunter.com. She sent me her working wide edit of the work of her website and the new photographs she wanted to work into her updated site. I reviewed each section of her site and suggested that she rename a section to '“Parenthood” to remain inclusive to all parents. I also consulted with her about images that were featured on her landing page, as well as the contact page. We chatted extensively on the phone to discuss the final edit, going one at a time to ensure she was happy with the final edit. Alyssa is family photographer currently based in Los Angeles.
Having tried to edit my own work for a website update, I knew I needed to bring Kristen on board. She went through every image with me (and there were a lot), explained where she thought it should be placed in my site, and most importantly what I needed to cut from my site. It was so helpful, and I’m so thankful I was able to outsource this. If I didn’t, I would probably still be working on editing my site myself. I would recommend Kristen to not only photographers but to anyone who needs someone in their corner to help with layouts. She will solve all of your problems, even the ones you didn’t know you had!

Laura Chase de Formigny
Laura Chase hired me to help her edit her portfolio book of editorial food photography for an upcoming portfolio review in Washington, D.C. (pre-covid, of course). She and I met up in person at a cute little coffee shop where she brought print outs of all her images she wanted considered for her updated book. Yes, I was drooling the whole time. Here’s some behind the scenes looks at the process. You can see her website here where she showcases many of the final images we included in her portfolio book. Laura Chase is a freelance photographer currently based in the Washington, D.C. area.
